The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS (991 generation) was produced between 2014 and 2019 as part of the 991.1 and 991.2 series, marking the seventh generation of the iconic 911 lineup. Approximately 10,000 units of the Carrera GTS were manufactured across coupe, cabriolet, and Targa body styles, making it a relatively rare variant compared to base Carrera models. It is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine in the 991.2 (post-2017) models, delivering 450 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, while earlier 991.1 versions featured a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter engine with 430 horsepower. Performance highlights include a 0-60 mph time of around 3.5 seconds with the PDK transmission and a top speed nearing 190 mph.
For exotic car collectors, the 911 Carrera GTS 991 holds appeal due to its blend of performance and exclusivity, with special editions like the limited-run GTS Club Coupe (60 units for the U.S. market in 2015) adding to its rarity. Values have remained strong, with well-maintained examples often appreciating, especially for manual transmission models or low-mileage specimens. Its historical significance lies in bridging the transition from naturally aspirated to turbocharged engines in the 911 lineup, reflecting Porsche’s modern engineering evolution.
