The Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 Roadster, introduced in 2006 as an open-top variant of the Murciélago LP 640 coupé, was produced until 2010. Approximately 4,099 Murciélago units were made across all variants, with the LP 640 Roadster being a rarer subset, though exact production numbers for the Roadster are not officially disclosed. This model was part of Lamborghini’s flagship V12 lineup, succeeding the Diablo and preceding the Aventador, marking a significant era under Audi’s ownership with improved build quality and engineering.
Powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine, the LP 640 Roadster delivers 631 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or optional e-gear automated manual transmission. It achieves 0-60 mph in around 3.5 seconds and a top speed of approximately 205 mph (top down). A notable feature is its manually removable soft top, designed for occasional use, prioritizing aesthetics over practicality. For exotic car collectors, the LP 640 Roadster’s rarity, powerful naturally aspirated V12, and status as one of the last analog-era Lamborghinis enhance its appeal. Values have appreciated in recent years, often exceeding $300,000 at auctions for low-mileage examples, reflecting strong demand for well-preserved units.
