About the Porsche Boxster 718 S

Production: 2016–present
Cylinders: 4
Powertrain: Combustion
Body: Convertible

The Porsche Boxster 718 S, part of the 718 Boxster lineup introduced in 2016, represents a modern evolution of Porsche's mid-engine roadster. Produced from 2016 onward as part of the 982 generation, the 718 S is an upgraded variant of the base 718 Boxster, featuring enhanced performance. While exact production numbers are not publicly disclosed, estimates suggest tens of thousands of 718 Boxsters have been built globally across all trims, with the S variant being less common due to its higher price point, appealing to collectors seeking a balance of rarity and drivability.

Equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four engine, the 718 S delivers 350 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque, achieving 0-60 mph in approximately 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph. It offers a choice between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. For exotic car collectors, the 718 S stands out due to its mid-engine layout, precise handling, and Porsche’s engineering pedigree. Limited editions, like the 718 Boxster S 25 Years (released in 2021 to commemorate the Boxster’s 25th anniversary), add to its allure with unique styling and exclusivity, potentially increasing future value.
