About the Porsche 911 Carrera 992

Production: 2019–present
Cylinders: 6
Powertrain: Combustion

The Porsche 911 Carrera 992, the eighth generation of the iconic 911 series, entered production in 2019 and continues to be manufactured as of 2023. This model is produced at Porsche’s Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant in Germany, with annual production numbers varying but estimated at around 30,000 units globally across all 992 variants. The base Carrera model features a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, delivering 379 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Performance highlights include a 0-60 mph time of approximately 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 182 mph.

For exotic car collectors, the 992 generation stands out due to limited-run editions like the 911 Carrera GTS and the heritage-inspired 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, which pay homage to Porsche’s historical designs with exclusive styling and trim. While not as rare as older 911 models, the 992 maintains strong value retention, with early units showing stable or appreciating prices in the secondary market, especially for low-mileage or special-edition examples. Its blend of modern technology, including advanced driver-assistance systems, and classic 911 DNA ensures its appeal in the collector community.
