About the Porsche 911 GT2 RS 991

Production: 2011–2019
Cylinders: 6
Powertrain: Combustion
Body: Coupe

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991 generation) is a high-performance variant of the iconic 911, produced between 2017 and 2019. As the most powerful road-legal 911 of its time, approximately 1,000 units were manufactured, making it a rare and sought-after model among exotic car collectors. Its limited production run and track-focused design contribute to its exclusivity and strong value retention, with prices often appreciating on the secondary market, especially for low-mileage or special-edition examples like the Weissach Package variant, which reduces weight by about 40 pounds with carbon-fiber components.

Powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, the GT2 RS delivers 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. It achieves a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. Notable performance records include a lap time of 6:47.3 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2017, one of the fastest for a production car at the time. Its rear-wheel-drive layout, aggressive aerodynamics, and lightweight construction underscore its appeal as a pinnacle of Porsche engineering, cementing its status as a collector’s piece with significant historical relevance in the 911 lineage.
