About the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 991.2

Production: 2017–2019
Cylinders: 6
Powertrain: Combustion
Body: Targa

The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (991.2) is a notable variant of the 911 lineup, produced between 2017 and 2019 as part of the second generation of the 991 series. While exact production numbers are not publicly disclosed by Porsche, estimates suggest fewer than 5,000 units were made globally across all markets, contributing to its relative rarity among 911 models. This model appeals to exotic car collectors due to its blend of performance and distinctive design, featuring the iconic Targa roof with a retractable center panel and fixed roll bar, a signature since the 1960s.

Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, the Targa 4 GTS delivers 450 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 7-speed manual or PDK dual-clutch transmission. It achieves 0-60 mph in as little as 3.5 seconds (with PDK and Sport Chrono Package) and a top speed of around 190 mph. Its all-wheel-drive system enhances versatility. The GTS trim offers sportier suspension and styling over standard Targa models. Value trends indicate steady appreciation in the collector market, particularly for low-mileage, manual transmission examples, due to limited production and historical significance of the Targa nameplate.
