About the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 991

Production: 2011–2019
Cylinders: 6
Powertrain: Combustion

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (991 generation) is a notable iteration of the iconic 911 lineup, produced from 2012 to 2019 as part of the 991 series, which marked the seventh generation of the model. This all-wheel-drive variant was introduced alongside the rear-wheel-drive Carrera models, offering enhanced traction and stability. While exact production numbers for the Carrera 4 are not publicly specified, the broader 991 generation saw over 100,000 units produced across all variants, with the Carrera 4 representing a smaller subset, adding to its appeal among collectors seeking less common configurations.

Equipped with a 3.4-liter flat-six engine in early models (later upgraded to a 3.0-liter twin-turbo in the 991.2 facelift from 2016), the Carrera 4 delivered between 350 and 420 horsepower, depending on the version (base or S). Performance highlights include a 0-60 mph time of around 4.5 seconds for early models, with top speeds nearing 180 mph. Its historical significance lies in refining the all-wheel-drive system for broader accessibility, while special editions like the 911 50th Anniversary Edition (2013) add rarity. Value trends show steady appreciation, particularly for manual transmission and limited-run variants, making it a sought-after piece for exotic car collectors.
