About this car
The Lamborghini Gallardo, produced from 2003 to 2013, is a significant model in Lamborghini's history as the brand's best-selling car, with approximately 14,022 units built over its decade-long run. Named after a famous breed of fighting bull, it marked Lamborghini's entry into a more accessible exotic car segment while maintaining the marque's signature performance and design. The Gallardo was powered by a mid-mounted V10 engine, initially a 5.0-liter producing 493 hp, later upgraded to a 5.2-liter with outputs ranging from 513 to 562 hp in various trims. It offered both manual and automated manual (e-gear) transmissions, with all-wheel drive as standard on most models.
For exotic car collectors, the Gallardo's appeal lies in its relative rarity compared to mass-produced sports cars, especially in limited editions like the Superleggera, LP570-4 Performante, and the final LP570-4 Squadra Corse. Its value has remained stable, with well-maintained examples and low-mileage special editions appreciating in recent years due to growing demand for early 2000s supercars. The car's historical significance includes being the first Lamborghini developed under Audi ownership, blending Italian flair with German engineering precision, making it a pivotal model in the brand’s modern era.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante, introduced in 2011 as a convertible variant of the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, was produced until 2013 as part of the Gallardo lineup, which concluded that year. Approximately 4,000 Gallardo Spyder units were made across all variants, though exact numbers for the Performante edition remain limited, enhancing its rarity among exotic car collectors. Built at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese facility, this model is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, delivering 562 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automated manual transmission or optional manual gearbox.
Performance highlights include a 0-60 mph time of around 3.9 seconds and a top speed of approximately 202 mph, owing to its lightweight design with extensive use of carbon fiber, reducing weight by about 143 pounds compared to the standard Spyder. Its unique soft-top design and aggressive styling, combined with limited production, make it a sought-after piece for collectors. Historical significance lies in it being one of the last Gallardo variants before the Huracán’s debut in 2014. Value trends show steady appreciation, with well-maintained examples often commanding premium prices in the exotic car market due to their scarcity and iconic status.
